Are you ready to compete where Texas crowns its culinary champions? Registration is now open for the Texas Food Championship, taking place September 25–27, 2026, at Water’s Edge Park in Corpus Christi — the official Super Qualifier for Team Texas at the World Food Championships.

Chefs, pitmasters, mixologists, home cooks, and culinary students from across the state are invited to compete across a lineup of elite championship categories including the Texas Pitmasters Championship (BBQ), Texas Pro Chef Championship, Texas Gulf Seafood Championship, Texas Pasta & Noodle Championship, Texas Dessert Championship, Texas Bloody Mary Championship, Texas Biscuits & Jampionship, Battle of the Cities Championship, Texas A&M Islander Culinary Championship, Texas Jr. Chef Championship, and the Texas Live Fire Championship. Each competition is judged using the WFC E.A.T.™ Methodology, testing Execution, Appearance, and Taste to determine who will advance to the world stage.

Texas Pitmasters Championship

Texas BBQ’s Ultimate Showdown

The Texas Pitmasters Championship is the ultimate celebration of Texas barbecue, bringing together skilled pitmasters from across the state to compete in a two-day smoke-filled showdown. Competitors will battle through six turn-ins — Chicken, Pork Ribs, Tailgate Challenge, Mystery Meat, Smoked Dessert, and the crown jewel of Texas BBQ, Brisket. Judges evaluate each entry using the E.A.T. judging system, scoring Execution, Appearance, and Taste to determine who will earn the title of Texas Pitmasters Champion and the opportunity to represent Team Texas at the World Food Championships.

Texas Live Fire Championship

Mastering the Art of Cooking with Flame

The Texas Live Fire Championship showcases the powerful and ancient tradition of cooking over open flame. Competitors harness fire, smoke, and heat to craft bold dishes that highlight both creativity and technique. This visually exciting competition invites chefs to demonstrate their ability to control the elements of fire while delivering unforgettable flavor and presentation.

Texas Pro Chef Championship

Where Texas’s Top Culinary Talent Competes

The Texas Pro Chef Championship features some of the most talented professional chefs in the state competing in a fast-paced culinary battle. In this 90-minute challenge, competitors must create a signature dish that demonstrates exceptional technique, creativity, and presentation. Chefs bring their unique culinary style to the competition kitchen while judges evaluate each entry using the E.A.T. judging system to determine who will be crowned the Texas Pro Chef Champion.

Texas Gulf Seafood Championship

Celebrating the Flavors of the Texas Coast

The Texas Gulf Seafood Championship celebrates the incredible flavors and ingredients of the Texas coast as chefs craft original seafood dishes that highlight freshness, creativity, and culinary skill. Competitors transform Gulf seafood into memorable plates that showcase technique, balance, and presentation. Judges evaluate each entry using the E.A.T. judging system, scoring Execution, Appearance, and Taste to determine who will earn the title of Texas Gulf Seafood Champion.

Texas Pasta & Noodle Championship

Global Comfort Food Meets Texas Creativity

The Texas Pasta & Noodle Championship celebrates the culinary artistry behind one of the world’s most beloved comfort foods. Competitors create signature pasta or noodle dishes that showcase technical skill, flavor balance, and creative presentation. Drawing inspiration from global noodle traditions, chefs craft dishes that highlight texture, technique, and innovation while judges evaluate each entry using the E.A.T. judging system to crown the Texas Pasta & Noodle Champion.

The Texas Dessert Championship invites pastry chefs, bakers, and dessert innovators to showcase visually stunning sweets that highlight creativity and technical precision. Competitors craft desserts that balance flavor, texture, and artistic presentation while pushing the boundaries of pastry and baking. Judges evaluate each entry using the E.A.T. judging system, scoring Execution, Appearance, and Taste to determine who will be crowned the Texas Dessert Champion.

Texas Bloody Mary Championship

The Ultimate Culinary Cocktail Competition

The Texas Bloody Mary Championship blends mixology with culinary creativity as competitors craft extravagant Bloody Mary cocktails completely from scratch. Each entry must feature bold flavor combinations and imaginative edible garnishes that transform the classic brunch cocktail into a culinary experience. Judges evaluate the drink and its edible components using the E.A.T. judging system to determine who will earn the title of Texas Bloody Mary Champion.

This competition highlights baking technique, flavor balance, and presentation while judges evaluate each entry using the E.A.T. judging system to determine who will be crowned the Texas Biscuits & Jampion.

Battle of the Cities Championship

Texas Communities Face Off in Culinary Pride

The Battle of the Cities Championship brings communities from across Texas together in a culinary showdown celebrating hometown pride. Teams representing cities and Chambers of Commerce create signature dishes that highlight the flavors, ingredients, and traditions that define their community. Judges evaluate each entry using the E.A.T. judging system to determine which city will earn bragging rights as the Battle of the Cities Champion.

Texas A&M Islander Culinary Championship

Showcasing the Talent of Islander Students

The Texas A&M Islander Culinary Championship highlights the creativity and teamwork of student organizations from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. Student teams compete in a fast-paced culinary challenge that showcases innovation, collaboration, and culinary skill. Judges evaluate each entry using the E.A.T. judging system to determine which team will earn the title of Texas A&M Islander Culinary Champion.

Texas Jr. Chef Championship

Inspiring the Next Generation of Chefs

The Texas Jr. Chef Championship shines a spotlight on young culinary talent under the age of eighteen. This competition allows aspiring chefs to showcase their creativity, passion, and cooking skills in a professional-style environment. Judges evaluate each entry using the E.A.T. judging system, scoring Execution, Appearance, and Taste to determine who will earn the title of Texas Jr. Chef Champion.
